ATP GLOW-Juice is an ATP (Adenosin-tri-phosphate) detection system using the Firefly-Luciferase reaction. ATP detection can be used to assess cytostatic, cytocidal and proliferative effects in drug discovery, biological response modifiers and compounds. This luminescence based assay replaces colorimetric and fluorometric as well as radioisotopic assays for the quantification of ATP in cultured mammalian cells. This basic method gives a very sensitive overview of the cell viability, influences of drugs etc. in cell cultures.

ATP GLOW-Juice contains a lysis detergent through that the assay offers a one-step method without a separate lysis step. Therefore the measurement should start soonest 5 minutes after adding the reagent. The specific lysis time of each cell type has to figure out by the user. After adding the reagent the luminescent signal has a half-time life of 2,5 hours. A stable signal occurs between 5-30 minutes
