Gaussia luciferase (Gluc) is the smallest and brightest known luciferase (2000-fold brighter than Firefly or Renilla luciferase.) Gaussia luciferase becomes a great reporter gene system for studying gene expression in vitro and in vivo because of its advantage over the most common Firefly and Renilla luciferase (read more page 36):

- 2000 fold brighter
- Naturally secreted, no use of cell lysis
- Perfect system for study weak promotors or hard-to-transfected cells
- Stable at elevated temperatures
- High sensitivity
